Before installing your WallDesign panels, store them in the room where they will be installed for 48 to 72 hours. It is essential for the panels to become acclimatized to the room’s temperature and humidity level. In wood based products, humidity plays a role in terms of expansion and contraction. The relative humidity level of the room where the panels will be installed must be no less than 30% and not above 50%. It is not recommended to install the panels in any environment where the humidity level fluctuates greatly. Doing so will void the product warranty.
Installation
Use a Brad nailer with finishing nails and an appropriate panel adhesive. The panels require a stable, smooth, and equal surface (gypsum, plywood, wood slats) since they are to be glued AND nailed. The panels cannot be installed directly onto framework (2 x 4’s) without first putting wood slats, spaced at twelve inch intervals, between the 2 x 4’s. It is not recommended to install the panels in an environment where the humidity levels fluctuate greatly. Doing so voids the product warranty. WallDesign is affordable and adaptable to any decor and style.
Finishing Touch
A variety of finishes can be applied to the surface of the panels, including paint, stains, lacquers or varnishes. Gel or alkyd stains applied with a brush are recommended to create a wood grain effect. With its many motifs and the possibility of using a faux fini technique, the possibilities of creating a unique and made-to-measure decor are endless!
