You need to pay particular attention to the level of humidity of the room where you will fix panels. In the case of wood-based panels, humidity influence the contraction and the expansion of the wood. The humidity level should absolutely range between 30% and 50% inclusively.
Leave panels in the room where you plan to install them between 48 and 72 hours prior to installation to acclimate panels to the room’s temperature and humidity level. Place panels flatly on their length of 2.438 m (8 feet) against the wall in way to allow air circulation between panels.
Your walls must be leveled as much as possible. They must be clean, dry and solid. It is possible to fix panels on studs, but we recommend to fix horizontal brackets (forence) to strengthen the structure and increase joint quality.
Cutting
MURdesign's panels are made of high density fibers (HDF), the same component than laminated floors. To cut panels, use a finishing blade on a saw bench with finished side upward. If you want to use another type of electric saw, like a portable circular saw or a jig saw with fine teeth, place finished side downward. To cut ending point, measure and mark the area to cut, drill a hole at each corner of the area and use the fine teeth jig saw to cut till ending points.
