Guía de instrucciones CHEVRON Vesper 24x48 panels

Materiales y herramientas requeridos

Construction glue, level, pencil, saw and nail gun.

Preparación

Take into account the humidity level in the room where you will be installing the panels. In the case of wood-based panels, the level of humidity influences the expansion and contraction of the wood. The relative humidity level in the room must absolutely be between 30% and 50%.

Let your panels sit for 48 to 72 hours in the room where you plan to install them to acclimate to the ambient temperature and humidity of the room.

Your walls should be absolutely level as much as possible. They should also be clean, dry and firm. It is possible to put the panels in place on wood furring, but we strongly recommend adding horizontal battens, which will enhance the quality of the joints and increase their strength.

Cutting

All MURdesign panels are made from high density fibers (HDF), the same component that is used in the manufacture of laminate flooring. To cut a panel, ideally use a table saw with a finishing blade with the finished side facing up. If you want to use another type of power saw such as a portable circular saw or a jigsaw with a fine-tooth blade, position the finished side face down. To cut an opening for electrical outlets, measure and mark the perimeter to be cut; drill a hole at each corner of the perimeter, and use a jigsaw with a fine-tooth blade to cut.

Installation

To start, you need to find and mark the center of your wall. Draw a vertical and horizontal reference line with your level. This will allow you to make sure that your panels are straight, even if your walls are not perfectly straight.

To determine the best positioning of the panels, carry out various tests. Determine, depending on the desired location of the pattern, whether you will place them horizontally or vertically.

Determine whether you will begin the installation by placing the first panel on the center line or resting on the center line. Avoid ending up with small parts on each side.

You will begin the installation from the top, making sure your ceiling is straight. To do this, you will use the horizontal level line by checking the distance between this line and the ceiling at several points in order to determine the lowest part in the event that the ceiling is uneven. Plan to cut some panels as needed so that they are all aligned at the bottom.

Leave a very small space of 0.3 cm (1/8 inch) at the ends of the wall and 1.25 cm (1/2 inch) at the bottom of the wall. This will allow the panels to expand during slight changes in humidity.

Before attaching the panels, place them dry first to make sure they fit properly. The panels must be fixed securely. Apply construction adhesive to the back of each panel. A 0.65 cm (¼ inch) bead of adhesive will suffice, as long as you apply it in an "S" shape.

Finish the fastening with a finishing nailer by nailing in the areas where the nails will disappear as much as possible.

There you have it, your project is off to a good start!

Acabado

Finish solidifying each panel with a finishing nailer. Be sure to nail in the correct areas to make the nails less visible.

Mantenimiento

Clean panels with a clean cloth and soft soap. Avoid using strong soap as it may alter painting.
